Week 18: Oooooooohh, Soft!!

Soft soft carpeting everywhere!

The fireplace tiles are done and grouted. We think it looks so much better than the off-white tile that the builder originally used.

We now have drawers where there used to be a hole for a vanity.

The gutters have been installed too! You have to look pretty closely to notice them.

We found where they store the 'incentive' boats!!

Week 17: The Light at the End of the Tunnel

We have a house number by our front door!

Is it the Mother Ship?

No, it's just the light fixture in the foyer!

The hardwood floor is down in the foyer.

The correct countertops and the appliances are in.

Over and under cabinet lighting works!

The sink is in.

Pedestal sink in the half-bath.

The new tile looks great around the fireplace!

New trees in the backyard.

Floor in the master bath and the kitchen.

Week 16 1/2: It's Electrifying!

It's looking really good! The shutters are up, the outside lights are up, and a lot of the interior lights and fans are up! Some of the landscaping is in, too!

Notice anything subtly different about the front of the house? Compare this pic to one from a previous week and maybe you'll see it...

We got an exterior lighting 'upgrade' and chose the Craftsman style fixtures. I think they look really handsome against the green.

Ceiling fans in the family room and living room. The tile around the fireplace has been removed.

Dining room 'standard' fixture.

Our back stairs are in, too!

Week 16: Tile?

Tile in the bath... this looks pretty good.

Tile around the fireplace? We're supposed to have slate!

We found out that the builder 'upgraded' our fireplace to tile from slate. With the 'upgrade' comes with a more elaborate mantle, that for some reason they can't do with slate - something about code. We have the choice to go back to slate and the simpler mantle, or keep it as is. We both really like the mantle. Since I was expecting dark grey/black I really dislike the bland tile color. So off we go to the model and choose another color that will work better. The builder agrees to make the change. :-)

Week 15: The Long and Not So Winding Driveway

Our driveway has been poured! The pad at the side for the Jeep looks a lot less obtrusive than I thought it would.

The pedestal for the heat pump and the propane tank are in.

Our back patio - extra large for a screened in gazebo.

Looking at our back yard from the neighbor's yard.

The control panel for the entertainment stuff. This box has all the wiring for the TV, surround sound, etc.

The bannister has been put in.
